Van Andel Education Institute (VAEI) developed the NexGen Inquiry platform as a tool to revolutionize science education in the United States. With your support, VAEI is providing today’s students with the tools they need to be the groundbreaking scientists of tomorrow.
NexGen Inquiry offers a web-based interactive solution for integrating an inquiry-based approach as the primary means of science instruction in K-12 classrooms nationwide. The platform supports existing curriculum, integrated teacher professional development, a teacher community and a resource library.
Built by teachers for teachers, NexGen Inquiry is the result of more than a decade of work with students and science educators at VAEI. It is a foundational support for the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) as well as other state standards and provides teachers with the tools they need to transform their instruction to align with the skills, knowledge, and experiences demanded of 21st century learners.
“My late parents, Jay and Betty Van Andel, understood the importance of science education in America’s continued success and created the Institute as a laboratory for innovation,” said David Van Andel, chairman and chief executive officer of Van Andel Institute. “NexGen Inquiry is the next evolution of their vision. We are giving teachers and students the resources they need to revolutionize science education from the ground up.”
